Bet England – Slovakia on Euro 2016
England’s final group match is against Slovakia, and on paper presents their easiest match.
Here is Pitch Invasion’s guide to bet on England’s match against Slovakia.
Bet England – Slovakia Euro 2016 : Head to head
The two teams have only met three times in their history, with England taking home the spoils in every game, scoring eight goals in total. Slovakia lost 2-1 in both Euro 2004 qualification games when they met the Three Lions.
In the last 17 games England have lost just once, to Spain, recording 14 victories in that time.
Slovakia enjoyed a 9 game unbeaten run in 2014, including a notable win against the Spanish, and have also registered impressive wins against Switzerland and the Czech Republic.
In qualifying Slovakia finished 2nd in Group C, 3 points ahead of the Ukraine and defeated Spain 2-1 in Žilina.
Tip: Based on recent form and history a bet on anything other than an England victory seems unwise.
Bet on anytime scorer for England Slovakia Euro 2016
In qualifying England scored close to double the amount of goals that Slovakia did, with the majority coming from Wayne Rooney and Danny Welbeck. With Welbeck unlikely to start, Wayne Rooney or one of Jamie Vardy and Harry Kane seem the most likely anytime scorers for the Three Lions, with the latter two enjoying good domestic seasons.
Depending on how they line up, opting for Rooney any time seems like a safe bet.
Slovakia’s top scorers, Róbert Mak and Juraj Kucka, finished qualifying with two each. Mak, who plays on the wing for POAK in Greece, has scored 10 goals in 46 appearances for his club, while Kucka, also a winger, has scored once in 15 appearances for AC Milan.
Tip: Without a consistent scorer it seems best to avoid betting on a Slovakian player at this time.
Bet Final result England – Slovakia
Providing England have not suffered from a total international capitulation, akin to Spain in World Cup 2014, one would expect them to have emerged from the first two matches as group leaders, or at the very least odds on for qualification.
On paper, Russia and Wales pose a much tougher opposition than Slovakia, and should be looking to end the first stage of the group stage with a win on Euro 2016.
Correct score betting
Considering how well England defended in qualifying and in recent friendlies, and factoring in Slovakia’s lack of a consistent goal threat, wagering on any outcome with Slovakia scoring seems unwise.
With England typically scoring over one goal in their recent matches, and factoring in the plethora of attacking quality in the team these days, betting on a 2-0 final score between England and Slovakia would be logical.
Tip: While Slovakia are far from a weak team, it seems unlikely that they will have the overall quality to overcome England.
